Dungeonbuilder I am a general contractor in west Georgia and I have had a request that led me to join your bulletin/discussion board.
My clients are a bit eccentric and have requested that I build a working dungeon for them beneath an addition we are planning for their home.
I have about 600 subterranean square feet to work with and the request is for an "authentic look" with some working restraint and "other" devices of the time period.
1150-1400.
Is any one out here aware of someone who has undertaken such a project? There are some "adult diversion" clubs around Atlanta that can likely provide ideas on how to replicate some of the devices but I am curious as to how it might be arranged and how to achieve the right look for these folks.
Any assistance will be appreciated. Pictures? Plans? Prints?

bent one this sounds very interesting. i think that i will look around for things about dungeons. I do know about certain devices used in the tower of london,but i am no expert you should see pauls site or e-mail paul he knows a lot about the place.
bent one I found out that there is an area of the tower that has been turned into an exhibit about torture. you may want to look into it about how to get an authentic looking setup.

instruments of torture.
Looks pretty realistic and well worth a visit.

Peter Many castles have a 'dungeon' for display purposes.
Warwick castle also has an excellent one.
Couple of Scottish ones too, though I can't bring them to mind

Steve-O-Gerst I know if you go to the theme park "Medieval Times" near Disneyland CA, there's a torture chamber. I haven't been there in years. Might look up one called "the Pear." It was used for stretching orifices. Your clients might like it.

I am looking for stryrofoam blocks that look like castle blocks for my garage. I've seen them in different displays. Any idea where I could get this sort of thing? Thanks G
